A TEENAGE sex worker was beaten and raped by a ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ abuser who forced her to earn £100 a day to hand over to him, a jury has heard.

Andrew Delsol punched and kicked the woman, tried to drown her in the bath and indecently assaulted her with a vacuum pole, it is alleged.

Delsol, 55, of no fixed address, is on trial at Bradford Crown Court denying 12 offences dating back more than 30 years involving two women.

The allegations include living off the earnings of prostitution, indecent assault, multiple counts of rape, wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making a threat to kill.

The first complainant told the jury today that she came forward after seeing Delsol’s photograph in the Telegraph & Argus in 2015.

“I don’t like the thought that he’s still out there doing this to young girls,” she said.

The woman said she met Delsol when she was 17 or 18 and was with him for a few months.

It was a nice relationship at first but then he became controlling and demanding, she alleged.

She was already selling herself for sex but he encouraged her to get red and black outfits and heels.

The woman said Delsol was smartly dressed, with two cars, a TR7 and a BMW.

She had a council flat in Bradford and he made her put £100 in a drawer every day from her earnings from prostitution.

“I was just being out there for him, really,” she said.

When Delsol found out that she was seeing clients at another address behind his back, he turned up with “a massive tree branch” and demanded that she go home, she alleged.

She claimed he slapped her, winded her with a punch and kicked her in the head.

She suffered concussion and he took her to Bradford Royal Infirmary.

“I did think he was a bit of a schizophrenic, but I think it’s more 'psychopath' now,” she said.

Another time, he accused her of sleeping with someone else and made her get into a cold bath.

“He tried to drown me a few times. He was holding my head under the water,” she said.

She told the jury he then made her stand against the bathroom wall and indecently assaulted her with a vacuum cleaner pole.

The woman said he then took the bulb out of a light and tried to put her finger in it.

“Psychologically, I think he was just playing with my head really,” she said.

The jury heard he then tied a sheet round her and pulled it tighter and tighter until she passed out. When she woke, Delsol was a different person.

“He was like a Jekyll and Hyde,” she said.

Then he had sex with her, she told the court.

“I was black and blue all over and in so much pain. Then it was like nothing had happened and he just left.”

The woman said she went down to London to work and made £1,000 for Delsol, but he was angry and said it wasn’t enough.

He demanded £200 the following night and she took an overdose.

She alleged that while she was recovering in hospital, Delsol wrecked her flat and she fled to London with no clothes and no money.

The woman said that when she saw Delsol’s face in the T&A she was shaking and realised how traumatised she was.

Prosecutor David McGonigal told the jury that the second woman alleges Delsol stabbed her in the leg with a screwdriver, bit her and hit her on the head with a hairbrush.

She claims he poured petrol on her, before flicking a lighter and threatening to kill her if she went to the police.

He is also accused of striking her with a stone, raping and indecently assaulting her.

The trial continues.
