A LOCAL Brownies unit will celebrate half a century in existence this weekend.
The 3rd Allerton Brownies, based at St Peter's Church on Allerton Road, opened its doors for the first time on September 15, 1969.
To commemorate the historic landmark, the unit is hosting an event at the place that has been their home for the past 50 years.
All those who have attended any 3rd Allerton Brownies's meetings in the years gone by are invited to come along.
The Harvest Festival Church Parade service will be followed by refreshments in the hall.
A spokesperson for the 3rd Allerton Brownies said: "It’s a good chance for past members to share their memories of Brownies, and to meet current Unit Members and volunteers."
