A PUB will officially reopen next week following an £830,000 refurbishment and expansion project.

The Livery Rooms, in North Street, Keighley, will formally unveil its new look next Tuesday morning.

An extra 35 full and part-time jobs have been created through the project.

As part of the initiative, a neighbouring former nightclub was acquired and that has been transformed into a two-tiered seating area.

A new beer garden has also been added to the Wetherspoon pub.

As a result of the scheme, capacity at the premises – which opened as The Livery Rooms in 2004 – has almost doubled.

The refurbishment included the removal of metal clad panels, revealing the original frontage of the building, which has been rendered and colour-matched with surrounding premises.

Original window apertures and the pitch of the roof have been retained.

Internally there are new furnishings, with planting and decorative feature lighting inspired by the Victorian cinema era.

And bar facilities have been upgraded.

Pub manager, Emma Smith, welcomed the revamped facilities and the investment in Keighley.

She added: “We are thrilled with our new-look pub – particularly the new garden, which will provide lovely additional space for our customers.

“We are sure that the public will be impressed by the transformation of the premises.”

The Livery Rooms’ name is derived from a time when horses and horse-drawn carriages were available for hire at neighbouring stables.
