THE Light Cinema has teamed up with Age UK on a new monthly film club for older people.
The Monday Movie Club, which starts today, is aimed at helping older people enjoy cinema. It will take place at the Light on the first Monday of each month.
The Light Cinema - located on Broadway in Bradford city centre - is also launching Dementia Friendly screenings from this week.
The monthly screenings will start on Thursday with How To Marry A Millionaire, the 1953 romantic comedy starring Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe, and Lauren Bacall.
Dementia friendly film screenings make cinema more accessible, by keeping lights on and allowing people to talk and move around freely while the film is showing. Carers are welcome for free, and the cinema will provide free tea, coffee and sandwiches.
βIt is our way at The Light in making cinema accessible to as many people as possible,β said a cinema spokesman.
