THE CAUSE of a three-storey inferno in Keighley is still unknown after crews from across West Yorkshire brought the fire under control.
The fire severely damaged premises in South Street which has many uses including a takeaway restaurant and a flat above.
Fire crews were alerted to the blaze just after 5am yesterday with around 40 per cent of the building engulfed in flames.
The fire was on the ground and first floors of the building, close to Greengate, near the New Hope Church.
At its height, the fire was tackled by crews from a wide area including Keighley, Bingley, Silsden, Odsal, Fairweather Green, Cookridge, Bradford, Shipley, Illingworth and Pontefract.
Some wore breathing apparatus to contend with the thick smoke.
