THE MP for Bradford West is encouraging people to ditch the car and walk to school after a climate change meeting with three schools.

Naz Shah met representatives from the Green Lane, Miriam Lord and Westbourne Primary Schools - where a new walking campaign week was decided.

Naz Shah said: "Climate change is a local, national and international issue. We all have a duty to act to ensure we can protect this world for generations to come.

"We’re going to make this really exciting by introducing a poster competition with some great prizes for the winner.

"I am grateful to the schools that have come on-board."

'Walk to School - Leave Car at Home’ week will take place week commencing 2nd March 2020.

"I really want the children to be fully involved in this campaign and look forward to working with them over the coming months."

She also said: "I am also thankful to local campaigners David and Mollie Somerville who have agreed to attend school assemblies and speak to the children about climate change and to encourage participation in the competition."
