DRIVERS faced long delays on the M40 this morning as one lane was closed following a crash.

Eight miles of traffic tailed back from the crash, which reportedly involved a van heading southbound just after J10 for Cherwell Valley Services.

It appears the van had left the carriageway and emergency services were on the scene throughout the morning.

Oxford Mail:

At it's peak delays were up to about 30 minutes on the southbound carriageway. It has eased off now with minor delays being reported in the area.

Thames Valley Police has confirmed it was called to a crash involving one vehicle.

Oxford Mail:

The wet weather also appeared to have a widespread affect on traffic across the county today as delays are worse in many areas than usual.
