FUN runners have just days to take advantage of the early bird entry special for this year's Frosty 5K with Helen and Douglas House.

The newly-named fun run will welcome in the festive season with a run round University Parks in Oxford on December 7.

Organisers are expecting to welcome 1,500 Santa-suited competitors who will take on the 5K route to raise money for hospice care for terminally ill children.

People can walk, jog or run their way through the Frosty 5K, passing through 'four new whacky winter zones'.

This includes an Icey Igloo zone, catch your breath in the fog zone, feel the heat in the fire zone, and wave to the 15ft giant snowman in the snow zone.

The course is completely wheelchair and buggy friendly.

Hazel Bedford from Helen & Douglas House said: "This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and we are really excited about bringing Santas on the Run back for its 13th year but with a new exciting twist.

"By taking part in the Frosty 5K, it will make a real difference to local terminally ill children and their families this Christmas."

There will also be an event village with games and activities from 9am to 3pm.

Early bird discounts are available to those who sign up before Monday.
