A FRESH CCTV photo has been released by police after a shopper in her 80s had her purse stolen in Waitrose.

The victim was shopping at the supermarket in Wantage about 10am on Tuesday, September 10, when she realised her purse had been stolen.

Within fifteen minutes the bank card was used at an ATM in a bid to withdraw money. An attempt was also made to use the card to purchase clothing but it was declined.

The victim cancelled her cards soon after realising her purse was missing so no money was taken from her account.

Thames Valley Police appealed for information on the theft and released a CCTV image five days ago to trace down a man and woman they hoped to speak to in connection with the theft.
