THE home of a well-known city centre nightclub is to go under the hammer next month.

The building which houses The Village nightclub on Sackville Street is being auctioned off on October 17 in Leeds.

Alongside the three storey mid-terrace building, a parcel of neighbouring land which could be used as a car park, is also included in the lot.

The guide price for the building and land is £150,000 plus.

TOP STORIES:

It is described as: "A substantial three storey mid terrace building comprising a ground floor nightclub and associated offices and gym to the upper floors.

"The building is let and producing an annual income of £21,600. The sale also encompasses a parcel of land fronting Barry Street which could be utilised as a car parking area for a number of vehicles, subject to any necessary consents."

The auctioneers have confirmed to the Telegraph & Argus that the building is being sold with the nightclub as tenant.

It will go under the hammer as one of the lots a the Pugh & Co auction to be held at Leeds United Football Club, alongside other buildings and land in the Bradford district.

Among the other lots is former Council run venue Holme View Care Home in the Holme Wood estate, which has been empty since it shut in 2017.

The 1,425 sq m property went under the hammer last month at an auction by Pugh & Co, with a guide price of £325,000, but failed to sell.

The building has now been relisted in the October auction.

Bradford Council closed Holme View, which used to provide housing for people with dementia, saying it would have cost £1m to bring the two storey home up to scratch with modern standards.

The Council sold the building in 2018 with local politicians saying they hoped the site would be bought by a housing developer.

The auction listing describes the property saying: “Substantial former Care Home with C2 (provision of residential accommodation and care) planning, previously Council owned, extending to approximately 1,425 sq m (15,339 sq ft) previously providing care for up to 37 residents on a site area of approximately 0.66 hectares (1.64 acres).

“The site maybe suitable for continued C2 usage or development subject to the necessary consents.”

Other local buildings up for sale also include the former Yorkshire Water pumping station at Dockfield Road in Shipley.

For a guide price of £5,000 to £10,000, the vacant former pumping station, on a site of 0.28 acres, is described as "a development opportunity subject to the necessary consents".
