Council decision-makers are set to decide whether to give permission for a new “micro pub” to serve alcohol.
An application for a new premises licence made for Woodside Micro Pub in Low Lane, Horsforth, has been submitted to Leeds City Council, and asks for permission to serve alcohol from 3pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday and 1pm to 11pm, Saturday and Sunday.
The application states that it would promote licensing policy by controlling excessive drinking, installing a “sophisticated CCTV system” and disallowing consumption of alcohol outside.
A letter from West Yorkshire Police stated it had “no outright objections” regarding the application, but asked the applicant to alter its conditions around CCTV to mirror council’s licensing policy.
A report, put together by council officers states the site currently holds permission to trade as an off-licence, but the new proposals ask for permission proposes to trade as a micro pub for the consumption of alcohol on and off the premises.
The application will be discussed at Leeds City Council’s Licensing sub-committee on Tuesday, October 1.
