SHOWERS ranging from light to teeming failed to put off families getting on their bikes for Bradford's Big Bike Ride 2019 on Sunday.
Dozens of adults and children marked Car Free Day and the UCI Road World Championships being held in Yorkshire.
The event was based in City Park which will see the start of the Elite Women's Road Race on Saturday.
Lord Mayor Cllr Doreen Lee attended the event, waving off riders who took to the streets for the fun day which was free and available to all.
There were two route distances of 2.5km and 4km and the ride welcomed all abilities and ages. Dozens of families took part, tackling the route on machines of all shapes and sizes including recumbents and tricycles.
There were fun activities for the whole family including a Climbing Wall and Spider Mountain with maze and slide. Bradford Youth Service provided guided rides and the chance for participants without a bike to access one.
The Big Bike Ride aims to be a legacy event for the Road World Championships by becoming an annual event.
