A DANGER driver who was caught out riding a motorbike while disqualified from driving has avoided jail

Adam Bhatti, 24, of Greenbank Road, Allerton, Bradford, was handed a suspended sentence in November last year after an incident six months earlier, which saw him burning the tyres off his uninsured Ford Mondeo while fleeing from police.

But despite being told by Judge Jonathan Durham Hall that he was “lucky” not to receive a jail term last time, the six months suspended sentence was not activated.

Bradford Crown Court heard that Bhatti, who works for Yorkshire Water, and is due to be married later this year, was pulled over by police in Baildon on July 6, for riding a motorbike without insurance.

He admitted being disqualified from driving and told officers he was trying to sell the vehicle and was taking it to the garage for an MoT.

Judge Durham Hall heard that Bhatti had already completed all 220 hours of unpaid work he had been ordered to complete last November.

He imposed a 12 month community order with up to ten rehabilitation activity requirement days, so Bhatti could undertake a responsible road users programme.
