A FUNDRAISING group is urging people to join it on the Settle Loop Challenge.

The well established, 10.5 mile route starts in Settle and follows rights of way to Malham Tarn and to Langcliffe before dropping back to the start point.

Organised by the Settle Manorlands fundraising group and sponsored by Castleberg Outdoors, the challenge will take place on Saturday October 12, will be open to walkers, runners and mountain bikers, and will raise funds for the hospice.

The group’s Emma Carr said, “We had a little ‘practice event’ last year and it went really well so we decided to make it bigger and better for 2019. The event is proving really popular and is looking likely to be a sell-out so interested people should act quickly and sign up soon.”

People will pay £12.50 to take part and will receive a medal and hot food provided at the end.

The group says the Settle Loop is challenging and not for the faint-hearted, including steep climbs out of Settle to the Dales. But, those taking part will be rewarded with spectacular views.

Sue Ryder community fundraiser Molly Ralphson said:“We are really grateful to everyone who have offered their help on the day, to Home Barn Foods for the catering, North Ribblesdale RUFC for the venue, Castleberg Outdoors for the sponsorship and local landowners for their co-operation – without all this support from our community we simply couldn’t hold fundraising events such as these and raise those vital funds much-needed for our patients and their families” To sign up for the event, visit: sueryder.org/settleloop
