WINNERS of The Peace Museum's summer children's art competition will be announced by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Doreen Lee on Wednesday.
Bradford primary school children aged between five to 11 have entered artwork inspired by the exhibition d Life, Peace and Nothing Else by nine-year-old Iranian artist Kimiya.
The lucky winner will receive a £20 voucher, a goody bag from the museum shop and a free Art of Peace education session at the museum for their entire class.
The competition ran alongside the exhibition, where Kimiya created nearly thirty acrylic on canvas paintings - all including messages of peace, to emphasise, as Kimiya says “the importance of peace for all inhabitants of the earth, especially children.”
Shannen Johnson, Learning and Engagement Officer at The Peace Museum said: "It's great to get children doing something over the summer and you can tell that they have put a lot of time and effort into their entries and have really connected with the exhibition.
"We're excited to welcome The Lord Mayor to the museum for the first time."
