No injuries have been reported and enquiries are continuing today to establish what happened.

When the Telegraph & Argus visited the scene, a huge police cordon was in place and both ends of the road were blocked off.

Angela Richards, 54, was in her home when she heard a “smashing” sound.

Her husband Andy, 61, said: “It makes me a bit anxious.
“I’m worried with leaving my family. I’m thinking of looking for a new house.”

He said the street had recently featured in the Police Interceptors show, where television crews follow police in Bradford on their call-outs.

Another resident, who did not want to be named, said she heard a sound which she thought was fireworks.

One man, at a business close to the scene, said: “It’s stupid of them to do something like that.

“You should not be shooting at someone’s house.

“There’s a lot of kids and families around the area - daughters, wives, mothers and fathers.

“It’s worrying for the community. We’ve our own little ones to look out for.”

Another man added: “I’m not far away from it.

“I heard something last night (Thursday) -I thought it was fireworks.

“It’s going to worry everyone, definitely.”
One resident across the road on Whetley Lane said: “To see the cordon, I’m anxious really.

“Normally, you see police and they go about their business - when you see a cordon, you worry about what’s happened.”
