THE former head of the Pudsey Conservatives will join a number of MPs tomorrow for the Great Northern Stop Brexit March in Leeds.

Jason Aldiss, former chair of the Pudsey Conservative Association, stepped down after Boris Johnson was appointed as Prime Minister.

He will join West Yorkshire MPs Rachel Reeves and Fabian Hamilton at the march, which begins at 11am on Saturday in The Headrow.

Organised by anti-Brexit group Leeds for Europe, the march will demand the Prime Minister respect the sovereignty of parliament, take No Deal off the table, and request an extension to the Brexit deadline.

Richard Wilson, chair of Leeds for Europe, said: “We are appalled by the undemocratic behaviour of Boris Johnson since he came into power.

“Since becoming PM, Mr Johnson has sought to minimise parliamentary scrutiny of his Brexit plans.

“He has suspended parliament for the longest prorogation since 1930. In normal times that would be bad enough, but these are not normal times – our country is in the middle of its biggest crisis since the Second World War.”

Also speaking will be Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Leeds North West Kamran Hussain and former Leave voter Leon French.
