A BRADFORD woman has marked a very special milestone birthday.
Joan Emsley marked her 100th birthday with this fabulous family tree celebration cake.
While she spent her big day in the Bradford Royal Infirmary after breaking her hip, the momentous occasion was still celebrated in style - complete with a card from the Queen.
Joan, who lives in Girlington, spent the early years of her life in Sheffield, where she was born.
She worked as a post mistress and in World War Two, she was in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. It was during the war when she met her late husband, Eric.
They went on to have three daughters: Jacqueline, Linda and Lesley.
Her family has grown over the years and she now has four grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren.
Up to her retirement, Joan worked in Bradford's mills and one of her hobbies over the years has been crown green bowling.
Her daughter Lesley, 72, said she has always enjoyed her home life and her family.
