VISITORS to Otley Folk Festival can look forward to enjoying a little theatre amidst all the music.

Otley Players will be putting on four free performances of the Little Lights of Kimberley during the weekend of Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22.

The group describe the play as ‘a short Victorian Melodrama with all the usual vapid heroines and mustachio twirling, wicked landlords and such’.

An Otley Players spokeswoman said: “Please come along and see us.

“You can hiss and boo and cheer - it’s not a pantomime but like it!

“We’re looking forward to seeing you all and it will keep us in a - albeit unpaid! - job.”

The Players will be giving three performances on the Saturday, starting at the Maypole at 12.30pm.

They will then present The Little Lights of Kimberley at The White Swan, on Boroughgate, from 1.45pm and at the Woolpack Music Studios, on Bondgate, at 3pm.

The group will round off their weekend’s work with a 12.30pm show at The Black Horse, on Westgate, on the Sunday - the concluding day of this year’s Folk Festival.
