A VILLAGE’S Local Plan has been a “labour of love” that has taken years of preparation - according to a local Councillor.

Bradford Council’s Executive yesterday voted to progress the Addingham Local Plan to a local referendum.

The plan has been developed by Addingham Parish Council and will shape development in the village until 2030, including where homes will be built and identify areas for new business.

Public urged to have say on plan that sets out future development in Bradford

At the Executive meeting Councillor Adrian Naylor (Ind, Craven) said: “I’ve been involved in this Neighbourhood plan since 2015. It has been a labour of love by the entire village, including the local Civic Society and environmental groups.

“A fair amount of work has been put into all aspects of this plan. It will help retain the character of the village until at least the end of 2030.”

The Executive praised the work done by the community in putting together the plans, and voted to go to the next stage.

That will involve the local plan going out to a referendum, likely to be held in January.
