A LORRY driver who was hailed for his heroic actions during an incident at Five Lane Ends, but later died, has been named.
Ken Sugden, a long-standing JODA Freight employee, died following an accident during rush hour on September 9.
The man - in his sixties - was driving his HGV when he suffered a suspected heart attack at the wheel.
The JODA vehicle is thought to have then careered over the roundabout, near Idle.
Witness, David Greasley, believed Mr Sugden drove onto the roundabout purposely to avoid causing injury to anyone.
Mr Sugden was then taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary, where he later died.
His Keighley-based firm confirmed Mr Sugden's death on social media site Facebook today.
The post said: "It is with great sadness that the company announce the death of a long-standing employee Ken Sugden."
It continued: "With 16 years of service with the company, Ken was a highly respected employee of JODA Freight, his dedication and commitment to the company has been truly valued by all.
"For those who knew Ken will know what a wonderful man he was, and he will be sorely missed by many.
"John, Dave and the team at JODA Freight send its deepest sympathy to his family, friends and loved ones at this terrible time."
Next of kin have been informed.
