AN HISTORIC home will be open to the public this weekend as part of the National Heritage Open Day.

Baildon Masonic Hall, at Hoyle Court, in Otley Road, Baildon, will be open to the public from 10.30am to 4pm on Sunday.

Hoyle Court, is set in beautifully maintained gardens and was originally the home to the Ambler family, who were wealthy Bradford Mill owners.

It was sold to Freemasons in the 1950s.

The hall will open its Masonic Lodge rooms, which includes an Egyptian style 'temple' or lodge room.

In addition, the public can view a rarely seen collection of photographs from 1900 to the 1930s showing Masonic social events at local beauty spots such as Baildon Moor and Shipley Glen, and wider afield.
