THE Bradford West force had anything but a day of rest this Sunday with stolen cars and cannabis hauls among the list of crimes.

PCSO Maskill recovered a stolen vehicle in Manningham which had been missing for a month and stripped of its parts. The forensics team is now investigating.

A stash of 150 cannabis plants was discovered at an address in Fairweather Green by PC 976 Lomax-Newton.

A man is now in custody after he was found "playing hide and seek in the loft", awaiting a CPS charge/remand decision.

The Bradford West team said: "This was not a grow tent in a back bedroom. This was organised crime and will involve some nasty criminals behind the scenes."

The plants were dismantled and destroyed by the team.

Police received a call out to Cannon Mills Market in the BD7 area. Inspector Facey met the locals and served all illegal street vendors with a letter of intention to report to Bradford Council.

The force is also looking into some issues reported around obstruction and blocking of footpaths.

PC 495 Cahill arrested female who spouted racial hatred after a council warden gave her a parking ticket.

The woman, who was interviewed and bailed pending CPS charging advice for a racially aggravated public order in the street, was dealt with on Cambridge Street in Bradford.

PCSOs Maskill and Lingard searched the city for a missing young person, working all day with no lunch break.

A police spokesperson said: "Great work team, all starts again in the morning."
