PETROL-HEADS and history lovers were treated to an array of classic cars this weekend as Otley held its annual Vintage Transport Extravaganza.

Hundreds of cars lined up in the Knotford Nook field to give visitors the chance to feast their eyes on vehicles from yesteryear.

Vintage wagons, Jeeps from the Second World War and cars from bygone eras were all put on display in the town.

Visitors were also able to enjoy live music, car boot sales, ferret racing, a mountain dog display and children's entertainment

The Otley Vintage Transport Extravaganza began as a one-off event back in 1996, when it was held to raise money for the mayor's charity, but it is still going strong after 23 years.

The first event was held in Bridge End and saw around 100 vehicles on display as £500 was raised by the event.

Profits from the day will go to the Hang on to a Dream charity.

The charity was set up in 1997 to make the dreams of terminally and seriously ill children a reality.

The organisers also support Otley's Spirit Of Christmas competition, which judges the Christmas spirit within the shops of Otley.
