A WELL-known pub has undergone an extensive refurbishment following a £250,000 investment.

The Stansfield Arms, in Apperley Bridge, has been given a stylish new look thanks to the major investment from Ei Publican Partnerships.

It comes as publicans, twin brothers Chris and Nick Green, celebrate their 50th birthday.

The Green family, including Chris, his wife Anja as well as Nick and his wife Tracy, have worked within the hospitality sector for almost 20 years.

Sixteen of those years have been at the Stansfield Arms, where the duo have won a number of prestigious awards.

Speaking of the investment, Chris said: “My family and I are hugely excited to have the opportunity to revitalise the Stansfield Arms and take it new heights.

"This pub is very much a community hub and the refurbishment will allow us to hold even more community events and attract new visitors to the area.

"Being our 50th birthday year, we can think of no better way to celebrate than with this fantastic investment.

"It’s great to have the ongoing support of Ei Publican Partnerships for this project and their confidence in our offer for the future.”

Matthew Bradley, Ei Publican Partnerships Regional Manager, said: “Chris, Nick, and their families have been a great asset to the pub and I am very happy to help celebrate their 50th birthday with this fantastic investment.

"The Green family has dedicated themselves to making this pub a success and they demonstrate how passion, drive and focus on retail excellence is the perfect recipe for making pubs thrive.

"I wish them the best of luck as they continue to take this pub from strength to strength”.

The project is part of Ei Group's ongoing £80m a year investment into its estate, which aims to ensure its network of pubs across the UK are at the heart of communities.

A spokesperson said: "The significant investment from Ei Publican Partnerships has transformed the historic 15th Century pub into a modern drinking and dining venue, yet retained its traditional character.

"This includes major exterior work to install a larger outside decking area, which can now hold around 200 guests, making it the perfect location for parties, occasions, and an excellent dining and drinking experience for customers.

"The interior of the pub has also been extensively refurbished, with a new kitchen and toilets having been installed, as well as a new bar and dining area where guests can enjoy an innovative seasonal menu and a range of popular beverages including craft ales and premium beers.

"In addition, quality furnishings have been added in line with the new look of the pub, including a number of stylish Queen Anne chairs that provide the pub with a welcoming and cosy atmosphere.

Upcoming events at the pub include Cask Ale Week, St Michaelmas Day and British Food Fortnight.
