DUE TO popular demand, the closure of the slides at the Richard Dunn Centre has been put back until Sunday night.

Bradford Council is extending the closing down offer so you can ride the Zambeezee and The Cobra one last time this weekend.

A Council spokespersonsaid: "The end date for the closing down offer had been planned back in April when we prepared our Schools Out brochure for the Summer.

"We have been doing this as a special promotional price of £4 Adults and £2 children. It has proved quite popular and we decided today that we would extend the special offer for a further two days."

The Council-run centre, named after the Bradford boxer who fought Muhammed Ali, is due to shut.

It will be replaced by the newly-built £17.5 million Sedbergh Leisure Centre a short distance away between Cleckheaton Road and Huddersfield Road.

In a post on its Facebook page, Richard Dunn's warned customers that the pool could be very busy this week.

It said: "We are expecting the pool and slides to be extremely busy. Please be aware that your times maybe limited during this period to 1hr 30mins.

"Please be aware waiting times may apply and the pool could be closed if full to capacity."

A junior swim costs £1 and a junior swim and slide £2 with an adult swim costing £2 and an adult swim and slide £4.

Saturday Swim for All with slides runs from 12pm till 2pm, family swim with slides 2pm till 4pm, Sunday Swim for All with slides 11am till 1.30pm and family swim with slides 1.30pm till 4pm.

There is a height restriction of 1.2 metres which applies for the slides.

For the family swim adults must accompany children into the pool and no children or adults will be admitted on their own.
