PLANS to demolish a garage off Halifax Road and build a convenience store in its place have been approved.
ADW Holdings had submitted a planning application to demolish St Abbs Garage and redevelop the site, replacing it with a new build, 245 square metre shop with nine parking spaces.
They argued that the business would be mainly used by local residents and passing commuters, and would not impact the nearby shopping areas in Wibsey or Low Moor.
Demolition of Idle business site approved
The site is on one of the main routes between Bradford and Halifax.
The application has now been approved by Bradford Council.
The approved application said: "It is considered that the proposal is a relatively modest one aimed at the local community and passing vehicle trade which would not undermine the health and vitality of the local centres.
