A HEADTEACHER has announced online that her school will close down - just six days before the autumn term begins.
A short message on Rastrick Independent School's website, posted by headteacher Susan Vaughey, said the school will officially close on Friday, but gave no reason for the sudden closure.
The statement read: "I am sorry to announce that I am closing Rastrick Independent School with effect from 30th August 2019. I have informed the local authority.
"You may contact Calderdale Council for further help and assistance with regards to admissions. Their number is 01422 392617."
The school taught children aged from birth to 16-years-old and beyond.
The school's website also described the premises as a "Tutorial College for external candidates at all levels and an external examination centre for all Examination Boards."
An International College was also part of the school.
The school was last inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in November 2018.
