JAMES Davies' incredible lone hand of 53 not out ensured Aire-Wharfe League Division One leaders Otley scraped a dramatic one-wicket win at mid-table Bilton.

Otley bowled first and were all over Bilton. Alex Mullins starred with 6-26 as the hosts were rolled for just 109.

The visitors were coasting at 53-3 in reply, but once Matt O'Grady was dismissed for 14, the wheels began to come off. Otley staggered to 99-9, but a last wicket partnership of 12 ensured a dramatic victory.

Ilkley are third after hammering Pool by 105 runs. Dave Pennett led the way with 58 in Ilkley's total of 199-9, before Henry Wilson took 4-21, as Pool slumped to 94 all out.

Pool are still looking nervously over their shoulders at the drop zone, as they are just two points from safety.

Fortunately, Horsforth helped out, as they hammered Pool's relegation rivals Collingham & Linton by 166 runs. Wicket-keeper Bailey Worcester struck 71 n.o. for Horsforth, before Chathura Kaluthanthri added to his 62 with fine figures of 6-26.

Meanwhile, Burley-in-Wharfedale won an extraordinary match at Addingham. The visitors were shot out for just 69, thanks to Richard Atkins (4-28) and Rory Stead (3-4).

But a stunning effort by Jason Wright (7-25) ensured a comeback for the ages, as Burley won by just eight runs.

In Division Two, leaders Saltaire scraped a surprisingly nervy three-wicket win over rock-bottom Colton Institute, thanks mainly to Sajad Ali and Muhammad Qadeer sharing three wickets apiece and Aftab Khan's unbeaten 36.

Meanwhile, Olicanian remain in the hunt for promotion after a thumping eight-wicket win at New Rover. Ed Broadley took 5-31 for the visitors, before Dave Healey (50 n.o.) and Tom Smallwood (54 n.o.) ensured a comfortable chase.

That was more than enough, as Beckwithshaw were dismissed for 115. Sam Wilkinson, no doubt inspired by his 37 with the bat, took 4-19.

Guiseley are currently in the drop zone, but they did their survival chances a huge favour by beating relegation rivals Tong Park Esholt by four wickets.

Marcus Brown set Guiseley on their way with magnificent figures of 7-26, before Robert Butterfield's 30 saw them home.

Struggling Ben Rhydding put themselves in a brilliant position at home to mid-table Steeton. The bowlers were all among the wickets as the visitors crumbled to 129 all out.

But extras top scored with 13 when it came to Ben Rhydding's turn at the crease, as they were dismissed for a paltry 53.

Division Three's runaway leaders Green Lane humiliated struggling Skipton by 203 runs. They scored a a huge 271-1, with Waleed Akhtar belting a brilliant 156 n.o. before blowing away the opposition for just 68.

Elsewhere, Calverley St Wilfrid's continue to look good in second. Opening pair Nav Panesar (48) and Ed Whittingham (67) put on 124 to set up their total of 228-8, before Thomas Simpson's 4-37 helped dismiss North Leeds' second team for only 154.

George Marsden bowled well to take 4-46 but second-bottom Menston remain in grave danger of demotion to Division Four, as they slipped to a 97-run defeat at home to Leeds Modernians.

Thackley are not out of trouble yet though, and they slipped to an awful eight-wicket defeat at Bolton Villas, after being bowled out for just 108.

Sam Lawrence did most of the damage for Villas, taking a fine 6-28, before Parag Mohite blasted 48 not out of just 21 balls, including five sixes, in a routine chase.

Finally, Tong Park Esholt's second team slipped to a heartbreaking two-run defeat to Alwoodley, despite fine performances from Neil Cooper (5-55) and William Murray (48 n.o.).
