Two men and a woman have been charged with the attempted murder of four people over a house fire in Heckmondwike.
The family living in the house in Stonedene Court escaped out of their windows at around 4.13am on Sunday, August 11.
A 17-year-old boy suffered burns and injuries from jumping out of the upstairs window.
They were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital.
Mohammed Iftikhar, 45, of Mortimer Avenue, Batley; Vishal Thapar, 31, of Brooke Street, Cleckheaton; and Semia Hussain, 25, of Hawthorne Avenue, Batley; are all due to appear at Leeds Magistrates court this morning (Saturday, August 24).
Following the incident, Det Supt Mark Swift said the attack "took place at a time of night when a family were at home sleeping and could quite easily have had fatal consequences for those inside".
The detective superintendent, who is leading the investigation alongside the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “This is clearly a very serious incident in which a male has suffered burn injuries and three females have also suffered smoke inhalation."
