A COLLECTION by a bikers group to help Yorkshire Air Ambulance after a pilot’s helmet was stolen in Shipley while on a 999 call raised a £1,000.
Maria Glover Crump, of Northern Cross MCC motorcycle group in Baildon, was one of several people who started Gofundme pages to help the charity replace the helmet which was recovered damaged after the incident.
She said: “We raised a total of £1,032 in just three days,
“The generosity of friends and strangers was overwhelming.”
Vickie Bowden, the West Yorkshire Regional Fundraiser for the air ambulance, went to a Northern Cross meeting this week and was presented with a cheque for the amount.
YAA says it needs £12,000 a day in donations to keep its aircraft flying.
