FOUR electric car charging points could soon be installed at a Bradford retail park.

The Quora Retail Park, on the former Fields printers and packaging site at Scott Works in Hollingwood Lane, opened last year. It is home to businesses including Aldi, Home Bargains, Starbucks, Greggs and a family pub.

A new planning application has been submitted by Instavolt to install four rapid charging points in the centre's car park.

Each point can charge a vehicle by up to 80 per cent within around 30 minutes.

A planning application for the development has been submitted to Bradford Council, and says: "As the number of electric vehicles on the road increases so the need for infrastructure required to support the vehicles is also increased. The charging units proposed here will provide a small part of this crucial infrastructure.

"The UK has binding climate agreements to reduce the levels of CO2 emissions by at least 80 per cent of 1990 levels by 2050, of which, the proposed EV chargers will provide crucial infrastructure to enable this transition to a low carbon economy."

A decision on the application is expected in October.
