A DANGER driver has been given a final warning to complete his community service or face months in jail.

Erik Lauko, 28, was convicted of dangerous driving at Northampton Crown Court in May and handed a 44-week suspended sentence and ordered to complete 200 hours unpaid work.

He failed to turn up for unpaid work, citing toothache as the reason he missed his appointment, Gerald Hendron said in his defence at Bradford Crown Court earlier today.

Judge Jonathan Rose ordered Lauko to complete an extra 20 hours unpaid work or face the prospect of spending time behind bars.

He said: “If that does not happen, even the eloquence of Mr Hendron will not save you.

“I will send you to prison for 18 months, I’m not messing about here.

“You aren’t in Northampton now, you are in Bradford. Either start completing this work in the next 28 days, or I am sending you to prison.”

Lauko must now complete 201.5 hours of unpaid work, having completed 18.5 hours following his missed appointment.
