A SCRAP yard in Lidget Green could be cleared to make way for a small industrial estate if new plans area approved.
Peter Singh has submitted a planning application to build two light industrial units on the site at 69 Spencer Road. The new development would create 750sq.m of new industrial floor space and create up to 28 new jobs.
The site is currently home to a "dilapidated" building that would be demolished as part of the site's re-development.
It will retain the 28 parking spaces currently available on the site.
A decision on the application is expected late next month.
The application says: "The overall purpose of this project is to create a light industrial estate that compliments the streetscene and brings about a more contemporary feel to the area. We believe that demolition of the existing weathered and tattered building and clearance of the scrapped cars from the yard will compliment streetscene and allow for better use of the land while providing more jobs for the local area.
"We that Bradford Council agrees that the removal of the dilapidated building, and its replacement with purpose built light industrial units can only be a positive influence to the neighbourhood and people in it, and that the scheme as a whole is sympathetic to its surroundings and will enhance the streetscene and neighbourhood alike."
If approved, any businesses based on the site would have opening hours of 7am until 6pm.
