A MOTHER has spoken of her frustration after sewage flooded her street on Monday, and still hasn't been cleared up.

The sewage has overflowed in Dulverton Grove, Holme Wood, right outside Holme Wood Health Centre, and has only been made worse by this week's heavy rain.

Resident Sarah Tate said "poo and condoms" can be seen floating in the water, which has now spilled over onto the pavement and is leaking into people's gardens.

She said: "Sewage started coming up from the drains on Monday and pooling at the bottom of the street.

"It had poo floating in it and it absolutely stinks.

"It has gotten worse all week and is going into people's gardens now.

"You can't walk down the pavement, the children cannot play out. There is poo, condoms and more floating around in it and on the path, it is a complete mess.

"It stinks, cars are driving through it and trailing it up and down the street.

"We are having to disinfect out shoes at the front door so we don't walk any of it into our house.

"The whole street at the corner is flooded now, right outside the health centre."

Ms Tate said she contacted Yorkshire Water on Monday, who said it would be dealt with within five days, as it had more urgent calls to attend, but would come as soon as they could.

The Telegraph & Argus could not reach Yorkshire Water for comment.
