THE landlady of popular Bradford Bulls fans' pub the Top House has said she thinks the pub will be unaffected by the Bulls' move to Dewsbury.

Bradford Bulls owner Andrew Chalmers said the club is leaving Odsal Stadium at the end of the season as the ground is no longer financially viable, and will play two season at Dewsbury Rams' Tetley's Stadium while a suitable new home in Bradford is found.

Elaine Crowther is the landlady of the Top House in Odsal, which was voted the best rugby league pub in the land in 2017.

She said: "We will keep going here, but it is a shame to see the Bulls leave Odsal.

People only have so much money and getting a bus into the city centre then over to Dewsbury, for some people it is too much and it is too far to travel" - Elaine Crowther, Top House landlady

"I have so many great people through the club, both home and away supporters.

"But we only have 12 or 13 home matches a season, so I don't think it will affect us that much.

"We will keep our away coaches running, but everything is up in the air at the moment, nothing has been decided has it.

"The ideal move would have been Park Avenue but that wasn't possible, I think the Bulls will lose some fans if they move to Dewsbury.

Ms Crowther was concerned about what is going to happen to off-field staff at the Bulls now they are leaving Odsal.

"What is going to happen to the offices and the people who work in the hospitality area and bars?

"Are they going to have to move to Dewsbury too or have their jobs just gone? That is something we need to know about.

"Odsal needs something doing to it, but that's down to the Council and the RFL. If they aren't willing to maintain it then Andrew Chalmers had no choice."
