A MAN caught with a kilo of cannabis in his attic, along with £869 in cash, has been sentenced to nine months imprisonment, suspended for two years.
Umar Aslam, 37, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply the Class B drug after police raided his home in Agar Street, Girlington, Bradford, in March last year.
Prosecutor Clare Walsh told Bradford Crown Court on Thursday that officers found about a kilo of cannabis drying at the address.
The court heard that Aslam had 19 previous convictions for 42 offences, including two offences of possession of cannabis and one of supplying cocaine.
His barrister, Shufqat Khan, said Aslam had set up his own mobile catering business. He had suffered for many years with bipolar but he had the support of a close and loving family.
Aslam was also ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work.
