LEEDS Bradford Airport is among the cheapest in the UK for airport parking over the August bank holiday weekend but it is in the top five most expensive airports for meet and greet.

Airport Parking Shop reviewed pricing for every UK airport for a four-day break over the bank holiday.

It found that parking options nationally can vary from £20.99 up to £168, with a deal at LBA costing £35 for park and ride parking and £65 for meet and greet.

The research found the most expensive airport car park was at Heathrow where passengers are being charged £168 in a short stay car park at Terminal 5. However, by shopping around you could save £123 by booking a meet and greet parking option (£45) or £132.05 by securing a nearby Park and Ride which comes in at £35.95.

The average cost of short stay airport parking is £62. The airport car parks that come in above the average cost are: East Midlands (£64.99), Birmingham (£72.02), Luton (£93.99), Stansted (£67) and Heathrow (£168). The cheapest airport car parks include: Humberside (£36), Prestwick (£35), Newcastle (£39.99), Bournemouth (£41.93), Edinburgh (£44.99), Glasgow (£44.99), Edinburgh (£44.99) and Teesside (£45.95).

The cheapest airport parking can be found at Glasgow at £20.99 for park and ride, well below the national average of £58.39, and is closely followed by deals at Aberdeen £22.99, Birmingham £26 and Bristol £30. London City has the most expensive Park and Ride places at £85.50, followed by Stansted at £72.
