THE Yorkshire Cricket Foundation is hosting its annual Beach Cricket this weekend, as part of the famous Scarborough Cricket Festival week, and Bradford is heavily involved.
Day one will see children from the foundation's Bradford, Leeds and Hull Wicketz Hubs, who would perhaps not normally get the opportunity to take a trip to Scarborough, play cricket in this format.
As the charity side of Yorkshire CCC, most of the foundation's participation is focused in hard-to-reach and/or high deprived areas across Yorkshire.
It aims to remove the barriers to playing sport by making participation low cost or free and by providing snacks or a meal at a lot of our projects, as well as making the sessions fun and accessible for anyone to take part, at a grass roots level.
Day two has been offered out to Yorkshire-wide cricket clubs, while day three is the dedicated women and girl's day. Members of the public can join in on those days.
Beach Cricket is free for all adults and children.
