PUPILS from Bradford had an ace day out when they teamed up with Britain’s tennis club of the year.

Bradford Grammar School teamed up with Skipton Tennis Centre to serve up a youth competition, with more than 20 pupils picking up a racquet to take part.

Voted Tennis for Britain Club of the Year by the LTA last year, it has been a Grand Slam 12 months for the club, which coaches hundreds of children in more than 30 group sessions a week.

Adam Cox, head coach at STC, said: “Skipton Tennis Centre and Bradford Grammar have a lot of sporting values in common which makes them a perfect fit.

“Sport should be inclusive and accessible to all people and communities.

“Tennis is a great way to have fun while energising the body and mind, and it allows young players to build confidence and make outstanding progress.”

Simon Hinchliffe, headmaster at Bradford Grammar, said: “We are thrilled to be working alongside Skipton Tennis Centre, widening participation and engaging children in the local community in tennis.”
