RAIL enthusiasts will have the chance to see a steam train on the main rail network in the Bradford district this weekend.
The Railway Touring Company is running ‘The Waverley’ steam service on Sunday, travelling through the Aire Valley and then over the Settle & Carlisle Line.
According to information sent to passengers who are due to travel on the special train, it is due to stop at Leeds at 10.23am, Shipley at 10.45am, Keighley at 10.58am and Skipton at 11.17am.
Following its journey to Carlisle, including travelling over the famous Ribblehead viaduct, it is due to return to Skipton at 7.47pm, Keighley at 8.04pm, Shipley at 8.18pm and Leeds at 8.59pm.
The service is due to be hauled by steam locomotive No.45699 Galatea, which was built at Crewe in April 1936 and was, at one point in the mid-1940s, based at Holbeck depot in Leeds.
