THE Broadway Shopping Centre will to celebrate Yorkshire Day and Yorkshire Cancer Research’s fundraising campaign, ‘Give It Some Welly’ tomorrow.
The charity is encouraging people across the region to get involved to help it ‘chase down’ a fundraising target of £10m a year. Its aim is to see 2,000 more people survive cancer every year in Yorkshire.
The ‘Give It Some Welly’ campaign raises vital funds to help close the gap between Yorkshire and the rest of the country. It has been backed by Bradford born cricket star Adil Rashid.
Yorkshire Cancer Research will invest the money in five key areas: prevention, take-up of screening, early diagnosis, treatment and clinical trials.
To mark the campaign a welly-wanging contest will take place in the shopping centre throughout the day.
