THACKLEY AFC are hosting a charity football match next Sunday (August 11) at their Dennyfield ground in memory of local man Gary Worby, who died tragically at the age of just 26 last month.
The event, in Gary's memory, is to raise awareness of men's mental health and to raise funds for a men's mental health charity, the Andys Man Club.
Thackley has voted to adopt Andys Man Club as its "charity of the season" and will have the Andys Man Club logo/slogan on its first team shirts (the back will say "#ItsOkToTalk").
As well as the match next Sunday, there will be raffles, bouncy castles, face painting, tombola and an auction.
As part of the event, there are a number of high profile sports stars whom have contributed raffle/auction prizes for the day.
Nathan Priestley, a coach at Thackley, said: "The whole day will be fun packed and for a great cause."
