A SPLASH of colour has been added to fundraising for Manorlands.

The fourth annual Paintrush in support of the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice took place on Sunday.

And the event is expected to raise about £16,500.

Around 850 people took part in the extravaganza, at Marley playing fields in Keighley.

They covered a five-kilometre course and were bombarded with brightly-coloured paint en route.

Extra challenges to negotiate included cargo nets, tyres, a slide and – new to the event this year – a slime pit.

Everyone who took part received a T-shirt, goody bag and medal.

A family fun day following the Paintrush included food and a bar.

The event was organised by the hospice’s Riddlesden and East Morton support group.

Sponsors included PoundToy, McNally EV, AB Jetting and Whitakers Animal Feed.

Manorlands fundraiser, Andrew Wood, said: “The event went well – everyone who took part seemed to enjoy themselves.

“A big thank-you goes to all the sponsors and everybody who gave their support on the day.”

Another fundraising event in aid of the hospice takes place on Sunday. The Bolton Abbey 10k and 5k trail run is being staged in conjunction with Ilkley Harriers and the Manorlands Skipton support group.

The event is for runners of all abilities and the routes are mainly on roads and well-made paths.

There is chip timing and all participants will receive a bespoke medal at the finish.

Entry fees include free car parking near the start/finish area and complimentary admission to the Bolton Abbey estate for the day.
