Shipley based Specialised Covers, the UK’s leading vehicle protection expert, has invested £200,000 in new machinery as it is set to continue its growth in the bespoke vehicle cover market.

The family run firm, who have seen a 20% growth in sales year on year, will be using new cutting technology which can cut multiple layers of fabric in half the current cutting time.

It will result in hugely increased output and reduced lead times for bespoke orders.

Katie Fishwick, Specialised Covers MD, said: “Ever since Specialised Covers was founded, we have always strived to provide the best possible service to our customers. We’re absolutely thrilled to be able to implement this new CNC machine which provides digital accuracy and high cutting quality.

"This project which received investment from the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), will help ensure customer lead times are shortened, helping support and improve output and growth.

"The new machine has also allowed us to create three new full time positions within the company, as well as invest in further training and development. Supporting the local community and manufacturing in Yorkshire is very important to us."

The Vector Cutting Solution, designed and created by Lectra, is a state-of-the-art solution combining software, equipment and data.
