THREE power cuts have been reported this morning after a major thunderstorm passed over the Bradford district early this morning.

There were no reports of flooding or damage caused by the extreme weather.

One power cut was reported off Leeds Road at 5.35am and was affecting 90 properties.

Northern Powergrid said it was an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve the area and was due to be fixed by 9.45am.

There was another unplanned outage off Priesthorpe Road, Farsley, affecting 30 properties.

Engineers were working hard to restore the power by 11am.

Another power cut was reported in the Thackley Road, Thackley, area at 5.30am affecting 50 properties.

The Met Office forecasts that the temperature will reach 24 degrees centigrade today in Bradford with the mercury climbing even higher tomorrow to 33 degrees.

Pollution levels are predicted to be moderate and pollen levels high.
