A TEAM of Bradford girls went head to head with a squad of American exchange students in an international cricket match in the city earlier this week.
The match, at Bowling Old Lane Cricket Club, featured 14 students from the US who have come to Bradford as part of an annual exchange programme with the Experiment in International Living.
The students, who come from different parts of America, are being hosted by Bradford Council’s Youth Service.
While it was a new sport to the girls from across the pond, some fine shots were played and there were some great efforts in the field on both sides.
As part of the visit, the students also had tea with the Lord Mayor yesterday.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Doreen Lee said: “It’s always a real pleasure to host the American students who come here on the EIL exchange programme.
“It’s fantastic that we can welcome them to our district.”
