A MAN has appeared in court over what police have described as a “large scale disorder” in Bradford city centre in the early hours of Sunday.
Rohaan Akhtar, 20, of no fixed abode, appeared before Bradford Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding with intent.
He is alleged to have wounded Reece Broadbent on Westgate and Reece Barrett on Barry Street. Akhtar is also charged with a violent disorder offence.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday, August 13.
Four other men arrested in connection with the incident have been released under investigation. Police have urged any witnesses or anyone with video footage to get in touch, quoting log 318 of 21/07.
A police cordon is pictured across Sackville Street on Monday.
