HUGE crowds turned out this weekend to celebrate the annual Bradford Science Festival, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing.
City Park, Centenary Square and the National Science and Media Museum were packed with families enjoying a range of science-themed events, including a large number focused on space and the history moment astronaut Neil Armstrong first set foot on the Moon on July 20, 1969.
Children could design their own rockets, explore the galaxy in the museum’s planetarium and go on a virtual reality adventure to the International Space Station.
A 12-metre rocket was also parked in Centenary Square as part of the festival.
Also celebrated was the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Periodic Table, with a range of exciting experiments taking place to bring the field of chemistry to life.
An Actual Reality Arcade was also in town, giving people the chance to be Pac-Man and play other classic arcade games.
The free festival ran from Friday to Sunday.
