AN event to mark the 100th anniversary of Peace Day has been taking place today at Bradford Industrial Museum.
While the Armistice marked the end of the First World War on November 11, 1918, hostilities did not come to an end until the Treaty of Versailles was signed on July 19, 1919.
To mark the historic moment a century ago, the Industrial Museum, at Moorside Mills, Eccleshill, held a Peace Day event with WW1 re-enactors from across West Yorkshire putting on displays to show what life was like after the conclusion of the Great War.
Visitors could also learn more about the local history of the First World War from exhibitors at the event, with The Peace Museum, Bradford WW1 Group and Commonwealth War Graves Commission all in attendance to provide information.
Talks were also held about what life in the Bradford district was like during the wartime period, and how the post-war peace process unfolded.
More than 4,000 men from Bradford lost their lives during the First World War fighting for the Allied Powers.
